The utility CORPORATION here in the Ozarks claims to be a “member-owned” cooperative and yet they didn’t allow said “members” to have any voice or choice in the form of digital electric meter system that went in here. Locals say the 24/7 high-pitched squeal began upon rollout. The excerpt from the pdf below explains this quite well.
What it doesn’t stipulate is that there is a metering system known as a Two-Way Automated Communication System (TWACS), which is the wireless version. They FORCED the hardwired version here known as the Power Line Carrier or PLC, which sends user data over the power line that was not designed to carry a data signal. The air is screaming here and if you aren’t aware, this causes massive issues in our eco system and it makes me a bit pissy too. From what I can tell there are good PLC systems and garbage ones. Quite clearly we got the garbage version here.
